Goal Football – Euro reaches new levels of excitement!

The UEFA European Football Championship, more commonly known as the European Cup, Euro Cup, or simply Euro, is the main international association football competition contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA. It was first held in 1960, and has been played every four years since 1996.

The format of the competition has changed over the years. Starting with a group stage, then a knockout stage followed by a final match. The current format features a group stage, lasting from June to September, which is preceded by qualifiers that began in March 2016. A total of 24 teams compete for the title, with 12 teams coming from UEFA's 53 member associations, and the other 12 coming from around the world via qualification tournaments.

The 2016 edition will be contested by 24 teams in France from 10 June to 10 July. Spain are the defending champions after winning their fourth title in 2012. Portugal are the current runners-up, having lost to Spain in the previous final.

Goal Football takes a look at how excitement is reaching new levels for this year's tournament!

Euro 2016 is just days away and excitement is reaching fever pitch! This year's tournament is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, with some mouth-watering clashes already in store.

France will host the event and they will be looking to go one better than they did in 2000 when they reached the final but lost out to Italy. They have been drawn in Group A alongside Romania, Albania and Switzerland. Other teams in Group A include England and Russia who were both drawn together on Wednesday evening during the draw ceremony taking place at Paris' Palais de Congres just yards away from where Friday's opening ceremony will take place inside Stade de France. The two meet on 11th June in Marseille – could that be a potential title decider? Wales are also appearing in their first major tournament since 1958 and will be looking to cause an upset or two – they have been drawn against England, Slovakia and Russia in Group B.

Group F looks particularly tough with Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Northern Ireland all competing for 2 spots behind them meaning that one of those nations will miss out on progressing to the knockout stages; whilst defending champions Spain find themselves in Group D alongside Turkey, Croatia and Czech Republic. Lionel Messi and Argentina meanwhile find themselves up against Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Super Eagles Nigeria in Group F – he's going to need his shooting boots on for this one!

Whilst there are always shocks and surprises during any major football tournament – remember Greece 2004? – there are usually a few teams who can be relied upon to do well such as Brazil (although they disappointed at home during last year's World Cup), France (defending home turf), Germany (the current World Champions) Ronaldo & co at Portugal or rarely off-form Spaniards La Roja among others so it should make for an exciting few weeks ahead!

One thing which always heightens excitement levels around any international football competition is when bitter rivals go head-to-head – England vs Scotland anyone? Or Wales vs Republic of Ireland?! And don't forget about Netherlands vs Sweden or Belgium vs Italy – let battle commence!

Indeed it would appear that Euro 2016 has it all; intrigue (will Wales cause an upset?), passion (can England finally win a major trophy?) , heartache (will someone please score against Iceland?) as well as goals (an average of 2 per game at last year's tournament) so make sure you don't miss out on what is set to be an enthralling few weeks ahead! Dear Goal Football followers - don't hesitate to share your thoughts below about this milestone event !

Goal Football – Euro delivers the thrills of world-class football!

UEFA Euro 2016 is now in the history books and it was an incredible tournament! France's victory over Portugal was an incredibly exciting end to a very entertaining month-long tournament. Overall, I believe that Euro 2016 delivered on its promise of world-class football.

There were plenty of highlights over the course of the month. Dimitri Payet's amazing goals for France against Romania and Albania were definitely two of the best moments of the entire tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick against Hungary was also a thing of beauty, and his late winner against Wales in the semi-final was simply sensational. And let's not forget about Antoine Griezmann, who finished as the tournament's top scorer with six goals.

The quality of football on display was first class, and there were plenty of surprises along the way. The biggest shocker had to be Iceland's victory over England in the group stage – a result that no-one saw coming. Other surprise results included Poland's victory over Germany in their group match, and Portugal's win over France in their semi-final tie.

Overall, I thought Euro 2016 was a hugely enjoyable tournament. The football was top-notch, and there were plenty of surprises along the way. Bravo UEFA for putting on such a great show!

Goal Football – Euro is your chance to make some serious cash!

What could be better than making some serious cash by enjoying your favourite sport? Euro 2016 is coming up, and Goal Football – Euro is your chance to do just that! All you need to do is make sure you're in it to win it, and follow our simple tips.

To start with, make sure you pick a strong team. This can be a little tricky, as there are so many talented sides at the tournament. However, if you do your homework and pick a team that's likely to go far, you'll be on the right track. Spain and Germany are always good bets, but don't forget about teams like France and Belgium either – they could easily surprise everyone this year.

Once you've got your team picked out, it's time to start thinking about your betting strategy. Placing small bets on a large number of games is often the best way to go; this way, even if you lose a few matches, you still stand to make a profit in the end. Of course, this isn't the only option – if you think you can predict the outcome of a few key games, then gambling on them could be very profitable indeed.

Whatever strategy you choose, make sure you stay calm and collected throughout the tournament. This can be tough – especially when your team lets you down – but it's essential if you want to come out on top. In fact, one of the biggest mistakes hopeful gamblers can make is getting too emotionally invested in their chosen side. So try to keep things in perspective, and enjoy the games for what they are: an opportunity to make some extra money.

We hope these tips help you make some serious profits during Euro 2016! Good luck!
